More 'Upbeatness'

A bit more detail has come out (via Autoblog) about the production expansion - looks like a real push to start making more 718s to make up for the demand and the delays. In conversations with Porsche sales folk, it seems a third shift has also been added at Zuffenhausen, which is also good.

We've also had some positive feedback from the forums on our project, and even managed to have a conversation with a Porsche Brand Ambassador in Detroit of all places. That was pretty fascinating as Dave has been a long-time Porsche aficionado, and a member of the Porsche Club of America for like 50 years. He'd seen our post in the 718 forum and reached out to us immediately for a chat. He's got a lot of contacts and was keen to connect us up with some actual Porsche marketing/sports car club people.

Any morsels of tasty goodness about this are most welcome.

We managed to secure a face-to-face meeting with Christina the Salesperson as well, so will travel down to see her and her managers in the hopes of making ourselves feel a little more 'real' to them. All in the aid of encouraging them to make us the lucky recipients of their next set of allocations.

Gotta say, it's a surreal process. Not like when I walked in and bought my 1999 Honda Civic SiR all those years ago. That was over and done with in about 20 minutes!

It's gonna be so worth it in the end.
