Mental Resetting
"Getting into the 718 Boxster GTS feels like putting on the best-fitting pair of jeans you ever owned and then heading out on the town."
There seem to be some word of allocations actually being handed out in the forums, and Porsche is apparently working with its wiring harness suppliers in the Ukraine to shift production elsewhere. So perhaps the lines will start up again soon.
Mentally, I find myself shifting gears too, pun intended. I really do think it's a question of when and not if we will get our cars. But the security of an allocation would be lovely.
In the meantime, we are focusing on other things. Initially we were going to make a video plea for simultaneous allocations to send to Porsche and see if that would have any effect. But we've discussed it more and come to the agreement that we will take a single allocation if it comes along, as opposed to giving it up, and then hope for a second one to come in time to be able to do European deliveries together. Worst case scenario we will just make two trips. First world problems right?
I have to say that it lifts a small burden off my mind to not be thinking about this every moment of every day. We've consciously decided not to have another little bet as to when we were going to get allocations as that just puts too much artificial stress into the mix. We will get them when we get them.
In the meantime though we're working on putting together a video and webpage that describes what our project is all about. Who knows, maybe somebody at Porsche will see it and be inspired by our story. Regardless though it's a fun thing to do and takes our mind off the waiting period. It also gives us an opportunity to practice and implement more video work. I’ve been working on the narration script and tomorrow we will try to read through. Fun stuff!
All in all, generally a positive mindset. It's comforting to hear Andrew also believe that eventually this will happen. As he said, my original early message was I can't imagine ever owning a Porsche, and as he said now, I can't imagine not owning one!
